Jones Brothers Trucking is looking for motivated, dependable individuals to join our open-deck / flatbed fleet based out of Missoula, Montana.

Whether you’re an experienced Class A driver, coming from van or reefer freight and looking to learn flatbed, or starting from the ground up through our CDL training program, we provide the equipment, instruction and support to help you build a career in trucking.

We don’t just train people to pass a CDL test.

🚛 DRIVER PAY

CDL Training

• $20 per hour while in training
• Approximately 5–6 weeks / 160+ hours for full-school students
• Monday through Friday training schedule

Solo Drivers

• Starting at $0.57 CPM for new CDL graduates
• Experienced drivers start at up to $0.65 CPM, based on experience
• Fuel-efficiency bonus opportunities
• Cell phone reimbursement
• Weekly pay

Actual earnings will vary based on experience, miles, freight and individual performance.

🎓 CDL & FLATBED TRAINING

Our Missoula training program combines classroom instruction with extensive hands-on experience.

Full-school students receive 160+ hours of training designed to prepare them for the realities of operating a tractor-trailer in an OTR flatbed environment.

Training includes:

• Pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Tractor-trailer operation
• Coupling and uncoupling
• Straight-line, offset and 90-degree backing
• Tight-city maneuvering
• Interstate and mountain driving
• Trip planning and fuel management
• Load placement and weight distribution
• Cargo securement with straps and chains
• Tarping procedures
• Flatbed loading and unloading procedures
• Winter driving techniques
• Real-world loading and tarping experience throughout Western Montana and Idaho

Before entering the full CDL training program, applicants must obtain their DOT Medical Card and Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP).

⛓️ ALREADY HAVE YOUR CLASS A?

You don’t necessarily need flatbed experience.

Drivers coming from dry van, reefer or other Class A backgrounds can receive additional training focused on open-deck freight, cargo securement, tarping and Jones Brothers operating procedures.

Experienced drivers are evaluated individually so we can concentrate training where it is actually needed rather than putting everyone through the same cookie-cutter program. Avg is 2wks

🏔️ TRAIN WITH EXPERIENCE

Safety & Training Department

Our Safety and Training Department brings more than 35 years of combined professional driving, training, troubleshooting and fleet-support experience to the program.

Training doesn’t end when you receive your truck keys.

Our team continues working with drivers through coaching, trip planning, cargo securement questions, winter operations and the everyday challenges that come with life on the road.

Our goal is simple:

Send drivers onto the highway prepared to do the job safely, professionally and confidently.

🌎 KNOW THE JOB BEFORE YOU APPLY

Jones Brothers operates an OTR flatbed fleet.

Drivers should currently expect to spend approximately 21 days over the road, with hometime accruing at approximately:

1.5 days hometime per wk OTR

This lifestyle isn’t for everyone, and we’d rather be upfront about that from the beginning.

For the right person, however, it provides an opportunity to travel the country, build professional driving experience and develop a specialized skill set in open-deck transportation.
